The Emptiness of Vanity

You may say quietly, under your breath, you are different, but are you? Many of us mistakenly measure success by the material others amass, by the structure others live in, by the vehicle others drive, by the tangible items where its value matters only in the cost to acquire such things.

Many of us wish to be someone of great acclaim, to wield power that moves throngs of others in comatose ways, where an abundance of resource brings fabricated happiness.

It is that vain desire that leads many to believe they are a predator scouring the wasteland for prey to sack, when in fact, they are bees traveling from flower to flower, filling their coffers with pollen.

Recognize quickly that the life displayed by others is rarely ever what it seems, and the possessions they hold is more a curse than a blessing.
