A Poem from a Father to His Daughter: Trapped in Your Beautiful Presence

A poem from a father to his daughter:   I recall the days when I arrived home to cheer, jeers and utter jubilation from my number one fan, my daughter. This poem describes that moment.

Upon entering the door, you greet
me with celebrity fame yelling
without reservation,

Daddy! Daddy!

Seeking only a kiss. Seeking only a hug.
You trap me in your presence. Oh,
how I melt holding you

as I did the day you were born.

You are my daughter, heir to a throne,
a princess once before, a queen forevermore,

in this court of love that is mine.
